This is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches to make. I do not use much salt when making this because the ham is already salty. You can also substitute the ham for bacon and it’s just as tasty. Croissants are packed full of butter so make sure you watch while toasting them so they don’t burn in the pan.
Ham, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwich
This super simple and delicious breakfast sandwich packs a lot of flavor. Don't skip the Old Bay seasoning it really makes a difference.
Ingredients
- 4 Croissants
- 8 oz Sliced Cooked Ham
- 4 Eggs
- OPTIONAL: Sliced Sharp Cheddar
- 3 tbsp Mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tsp Louisiana Hot Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions
- Heat a skillet to medium heat. Slice croissants in half with a serrated knife. Add croissants to pan and toast on both sides. Remove from pan.
- Add olive oil to pan and fry ham until browned and crispy. Remove to a plate lined with a paper towel to remove any oil from the ham.
- Wipe out your pan. Crack eggs into pan and add butter. Season eggs with a pinch of salt and Old Bay seasoning. Use a spoon to baste the egg yolks with the butter until the top is cooked through. Remove eggs to a plate.
- Whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning, and Louisianna hot sauce.
- Add sauce to the bottom croissant. Top with your ham, OPTIONAL: sliced cheddar cheese, egg, a little more sauce, and the top of the croissant.
