Easy Pizza Dough Crust
This is my go-to recipe when I'm craving pizza. I consider the dough the most important part of a pizza and with just a few ingredients you can have restaurant quality pie at your own dinner table.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Spring / Distilled Water 104 – 110 Degrees
- 2 1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Sea Salt
- 2 Cups Bread Flour
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions
- Attach your stand mixer with the hook attachment. In the bowl of the standmixer add sugar, yeast, and warm water. Mix and let the yeast mixture sit for 15 minutes. The yeast should begin bubbling.
- Add the salt, flour, and olive oil. Turn your mixer on medium speed and kneed for at least 15 minutes. The dough should be slightly sticky but pull away from the sides of the bowl while mixing. It's recommended to add less dough at first and continue adding 1 tbsp at a time while mixing until this consistency is reached. After 15 minutes take a piece of dough and begin stretching it out. If you are able to stretch the dough thin enough to see through without it tearing it's ready.
- Lightly flour your work surface and kneed by hand for 1 minute. Form the dough into a ball and place back into bowl. Drizzle with more olive oil, cover, and let it rest in a warm area for 1 – 2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Turn dough onto work surface and punch out air bubbles. Divide dough in half and begin working the dough, stretching from the inside out until you have the desired thickness you like. If you have trouble stretching the dough, let it rest on the counter for another 10 minutes to loosen up more.
- Add your favorite pizza sauce and toppings!
